Miami’s real estate market is thriving like never before – it’s no wonder there are so many supertall towers breaking ground soon! The magic city has to make room for all the newcomers flocking to South Florida. Here are 8 supertalls that will transform Miami’s skyline and create new inventory for those looking to buy property in Miami in the next upcoming years.
1. Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences
Reach for the stars at Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences, Miami’s first ever supertall to break ground. Reaching an impressive 100 stories and 1,040 feet up in the air, this stunning architectural masterpiece will be the tallest building south of Manhattan. Developer PMG has already launched sales for the residences at this one-of-kind building. Uniquely shaped to resemble blocks stacked up on one another, architect Carlos Ott promises it will permanently alter the skyline with a design that has never been seen before.
2. One Brickell City Centre
It’s unknown when this stunning tower will break ground, but it was the first to break height restrictions by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In 2015, they gained approval for an extraordinary 1,049 feet. One Brickell City Centre is expected to be 80-stories high.
3 & 4. The Towers by Foster + Partners
This stunning twin-tower project led by Tibor Hollo of Florida East Coast Realty and former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt will comprise of up to 660 condos and 220 hotel rooms. Recently, the developer reapplied for approval for a height of 1,049 feet after the FAA’s 2016 approval expired. One of the twin towers will be 81 stories high, and the other 79.
5. Skyrise Miami
This ultra-unique tower designed by Arquitectonica will reach 1,045 feet in height and will be used mostly for entertainment purposes. Unrivaled in its one-of-a-kind design, developer Jeff Berkowitz was recently awarded a patent for the design bringing a whole new meaning to the word: inimitable. Skyrise Miami has already broken ground, laying its foundations at the epicenter of Downtown Miami. Its completion date is set for 2023 when it will be offering exciting attractions and entertainment alike. Get ready to enjoy observatories, extreme activities, dining, music, and other VIP services.
6 & 7. MiamiCentral Supertowers
More twin towers are coming to Miami. Brightline (parent company to Florida East Coast Industries) filed documents for two supertall towers at MiamiCentral. The South Tower will comprise of 750 hotel rooms along with 50,000 SF of retail space, and the North Tower will comprise of 800,000 SF of office space as well as 50,000 SF of retail. Both are expected to rise 991 feet above ground.
8. One Bayfront Plaza
Another mixed-use project led by developer Florida East Coast Realty, One Bayfront Plaza is planned to include a blend of residential, hotel, office, and retail spaces. Expected to reach 95 stories and 1,049 feet above Biscayne Bay, One Bayfont Plaza will be the tallest building in the skyline.
